Description

This is a pair of ‘Yoke’ side chairs, designed by Ward Bennett in 1984 for Brickel Associates. The listed price includes the pair. Their design features a frame of bent stained Oak, and these particular examples retain their original brown suede upholstery. It is rare to find a Yoke chair available for purchase, much less a pair. The design was released closer to the end of Bennett’s storied career, and therefore not too many were produced. Bennett designed more than 150 unique chairs for Brickel from the 1960s through the 1980s.

Each chair measures 23.5 inches long, 19.5 inches wide, and 29 inches tall. The grain of the stained oak flows beautifully on both pieces, though the arms and legs do show several scrapes and scratches. The stained lacquer topcoat on the arms appears chaffed. The leather has stains and discoloration, and new upholstery is recommended. The frames and legs are solid. Overall, these chairs are in vintage condition with signs of use apparent. Please see photos.

What is Freight shipping?

Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.

Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.
