Swan Chair
This is a Swan chair designed by Arne Jacobsen and produced by Fritz Hansen in 1970. It was acquired directly from the estate of the original owner and was since masterfully reupholstered in full grain cognac leather by one of the nation's leading leather and upholstery craftspeople, who specializes in these pieces. There are only a select number of people on earth who are trained in the swan and egg furnishings as the curvature and hand stitching is quite complex. The chair has not been used in a home or office setting since its new upholstery job. It is ready for a new home and is in gorgeous condition. The base may show some light wear and patina. The leather hide is very high quality and has terrific hand feel. For reference, there is a very faint remnant of the numbers stamped into the hide that can be seen on the left underside of the chair. You can see it very faintly in the images. See photos. The chair retains its original label, noting 7001 marked on the label. This is for the production month and year (January of 1970).
The chair measures 30 inches long by 30 inches tall and 26 inches deep.

Estimated lead times are shown under "Delivery", above. Read our shipping policy to learn more.
Lead times are estimated based on previous production times from our manufacturing partners, but lead times can change depending on availability and circumstances outside of Rarify's control.
For example: if purchasing an imported or made-to-order product, international shipping and import times depend on many factors. This includes US customs operations, global trade circumstances, and production facilities in other countries.
We will try to fulfill your order as quickly as possible. Our international freight forwarding partners help to take burden off of you during the process of importing; we appreciate your patience while your order is fulfilled.
Purchasing made-to-order is one of the most responsible ways to purchase, as it helps prevent furniture waste on our planet.
Vintage items are typically in-stock in the USA and ready to ship once purchased.

Yes, in-stock items can often be delivered to NYC quickly by our skilled couriers. Pieces are delivered by hand to your residence. This typically takes 1-2 weeks for items stocked at our warehouse in PA.
Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.
Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.
Freight shipments can take longer and are more costly than regular mail, but help to prevent damage to furniture during delivery.
Rarify's entire collection is evaluated by credentialed experts for authenticity. We strive to only list an item for sale if we're certain it's authentic. Our team reviews every piece.
