The halogen flood lamp illuminates the column at the base. an an incandescent light provides additional diffused lighting that emits through the top. Each bulb has a separate switch. The metallic base with silver finish is weighted to prevent the fixture from toppling.

The halogen lamp source emits diffused and reflected light.
