Description
This is a Soft Pad Reclining Lounge Chair, Model EA438, initially designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1969. These examples date to 2006, and the listed price includes one chair. We have several of these chairs available for purchase in this blue fabric colorway. Their design features a cast aluminum frame with a 5-star base, and has 4 thick padded cushions along its back. The seats and back are upholstered in a thick dark blue fabric.
Each chair measures 31 inches long, 26 inches wide, and 38.75 inches high. They have a seat height of 17 inches. The upholstery is nicely broken-in and is quite comfortable, and the aluminum bases and arms have a soft patina. There is some wear apparent around the corners of the fabric, and there is slight discoloration on some of the cushions. On one chair there is a mild blemish on its backrest. There are also some light scratches to the arms. Overall, these chairs are in good condition with wear apparent from previous use. Please see photos.
