Description
This is a large-scale watercolor portrait on paper, painted by Till Freiwald. Freiwald’s images depict everyday people of various ethnicities in closely-cropped head-on portraits.
After an initial encounter with a subject, Freiwald takes photos and develops them. He then makes small-scale sketches from the photograph. Setting those drawings aside, he completes his monumental watercolors from his “mind’s eye,” capturing “the main characteristics of the face.” He works primarily from memory, blending layers of translucent color that results in an ethereal glow.
Freiwald was born in Lima, Peru, studied at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design in Germany, and lives and works in Cortona, Italy. He has exhibited his portraits widely in the United States and Europe.
This portrait measures 60 x 90 inches. It has been professionally framed and is behind glass. It is in excellent condition. Please see photos. The piece is an original watercolor and came from the collection of a global law practice. This particular watercolor came from their Boston headquarters.

Do you deliver to NYC?
Yes, in-stock items can often be delivered to NYC quickly by our skilled couriers. Pieces are delivered by hand to your residence. This typically takes 1-2 weeks for items stocked at our warehouse in PA.
