Description
This is a Round Occasional Table, initially designed by Gio Ponti in the 1940s. The piece was produced in Italy by R.S. and Co. AG SSGV around 1957. The frame of the table is made from solid mahogany, and it features an inset mirrored glass top. The mirror has a small, beveled edge that adds a bit of shine to the otherwise staid design. The size of the piece renders it to be quite versatile, allowing it to exist as a coffee table and/or a side table, depending on the occasion.
This table measures 31.5 inches in diameter, and it stands 20 inches high. There is some evident surface wear, and there are some light blemishes on the edges and the legs. Overall, this table is in very good condition. Please see photos.
The table was last purchased from WYETH in 2004, and we can include this original receipt from WYETH if so desired.
Has tag dated 1957 noting SSGV (Schweizerischer Spiegelglas-Verband), which indicates that the glass mirror was certified by the Swiss Mirror Glass Association.

What should I expect when ordering an item with lead time?
Estimated lead times are shown under "Delivery", above. Read our shipping policy to learn more.
Lead times are estimated based on previous production times from our manufacturing partners, but lead times can change depending on availability and circumstances outside of Rarify's control.
For example: if purchasing an imported or made-to-order product, international shipping and import times depend on many factors. This includes US customs operations, global trade circumstances, and production facilities in other countries.
We will try to fulfill your order as quickly as possible. Our international freight forwarding partners help to take burden off of you during the process of importing; we appreciate your patience while your order is fulfilled.
Purchasing made-to-order is one of the most responsible ways to purchase, as it helps prevent furniture waste on our planet.
Vintage items are typically in-stock in the USA and ready to ship once purchased.
How much does shipping cost?
To see shipping costs, add an item to your cart and proceed to checkout. You'll be able to see costs there.
- Small items like lamps typically cost under $99 to ship.
- Larger items including furniture often ship on a truck via Freight. Our furniture shippers professionally arrange and manage all Freight shipments.
- Freight costs often range between $100 and $999 for furniture.
- Very large and fragile items can cost more, depending on the ship-to-address.
- Freight costs may include insurance.
Do you deliver to NYC?
Yes, in-stock items can often be delivered to NYC quickly by our skilled couriers. Pieces are delivered by hand to your residence. This typically takes 1-2 weeks for items stocked at our warehouse in PA.
What is Freight shipping?
Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.
Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.
Freight shipments can take longer and are more costly than regular mail, but help to prevent damage to furniture during delivery.
Is everything authentic?
Rarify's entire collection is evaluated by credentialed experts for authenticity. We strive to only list an item for sale if we're certain it's authentic. Our team reviews every piece.
