MR10 and MR20 Chairs (1980s)
Made by Knoll
This is a set of six dining chairs, Mies van der Rohe’s classic MR10 and MR20. The MR Collection, designed in 1927, was the debut of van der Rohe’s earliest bent-steel designs. The listed price includes the set of 6 chairs; Four MR10 armless chairs, and two MR20 armed chairs. Their design includes a tubular chromed-steel frame that is cantilever in form, and these examples have thick black leather seats and backs. The set dates to the 1980s and was produced by Knoll in the USA, though no labels remain.
Each of the four MR10 chairs measure 27.25 inches deep, 27.25 inches wide, and 31 inches tall. Each of the two MR20 chairs measure 30 inches deep, 27 inches wide, and 31 inches tall. Their seat height is 17.25 inches. This set retains its original leather that is in great shape and has only some small scuffs and scratches to the surface. Some of the lacing on the underside of the chairs is loose in the photos, but this will be remedied before shipment. The chromed steel frames look great and are not cloudy or pitted. There is a light patina under the bottoms of some, only to be seen when the chairs are turned over. Overall, this set of chairs is in very good vintage condition with light wear. Please see photos.
