Description
Alfredo Häberli’s El Poeta bench sits inside and out, and can double as a table as much as an ergonomic and comfortable seating system.
Inspired by the Catalano benches by Oscar Tusquets and Lluís Clotet, Alfredo Häberli designed the Swiss Benches Collection for BD. The El Poeta Bench has a light, fluid profile and textured body, and it became a bestseller, sitting comfortably in the public and domestic spheres. It can be placed back-to-back as a table, where one can sit outwards or inwards to write or eat with the support of the levelling backrest.
The steel sheet is perforated and breathable, wrapping elegantly around tubular steel supports. Coated with cataphoresis, the bench is stable and corrosion-resistant and was awarded the Gold Delta Award by ADI FAD in 2007.
The benches must always be properly screwed to the floor. Screws are not supplied by BD

Yes, in-stock items can often be delivered to NYC quickly by our skilled couriers. Pieces are delivered by hand to your residence. This typically takes 1-2 weeks for items stocked at our warehouse in PA.

- Larger items including furniture often ship on a truck via Freight. Our furniture shippers professionally arrange and manage all Freight shipments.

- Freight costs may include insurance.

Newly made items ship from a warehouse or are made-to-order. There may be a lead time depending on the piece. We'll keep you updated if there is.
Vintage items are all in-stock and ready to ship.
What is Freight shipping?
Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.
Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.
Freight shipments can take longer and are more costly than regular mail, but help to prevent damage to furniture during delivery.
