Cannaregio Sofa (1990s)
Made by Cassina
This is a Cannaregio Sofa, initially designed by Gaetano Pesce for Cassina in 1987. This set was produced in Italy in the early 1990s. It is composed of two modular sections, each section featuring a contrasting undulating silhouette. The pieces retain their original multicolored fabric. They have a skeletal plywood frame and have polyurethane foam padding. This design is a wonderful testament to the Memphis movement.
This sofa measures 32 inches deep, 82 inches wide, and is 37 inches high. It has a seat height of 16 inches. The fabric on these pieces is a bit faded and there are some spots. One has some small bits of stuffing popping out at the bottom hem, and there is a small mark on the bottom of the grey one. Overall, this important set is in good condition with some signs of use.
