PKC2 Chairs
By Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller
Description
Listed for sale is a very rare and original set of six Herman Miller Eames PKC-2 dining / side chairs, designed by Ray and Charles Eames. This set is special for a number of reasons. First off, the set dates to circa 1961. This is clued in from the label underneath, which states Herman Miller, Inc. Furthermore, original sets are highly sought after and difficult to come by. Many of the Eames wire chairs are found nowadays without covers, as the covers become worn and are thrown away. This set retains all six of the original covers, which are in good to very good condition across the set, though they do show wear on edges as noted in the photos. They also have the Bikini pads, which are more desirable generally than the fully upholstered pads. Lastly, the set retains original labels and has an unusual white wire with swiveling contract base. In short, this is a nicely patinated and original set, which is in nice usable condition. The metal base and uppers show some wear as expected for vintage examples. They measure approximately 33 inches tall by 19 inches wide and 20 inches deep. The price listed includes all six chairs. The buyer may pick up the furniture, have it shipped by our shipping partners (buyer will pay for full shipping cost, though will not have to arrange it), or discuss potential delivery within reason following the end of the auction. The listed shipping cost is an estimate, though we can likely stay below that number for most areas of the country. If you win the item, we can discuss shipping options, prices, etc. and we will make sure that it is as inexpensive for you as possible. We work with a shipper locally who takes great care in their work and has been complemented often on their packing and shipping quality.
