Description

This table came from the private collection of Gratz Industries, known formerly as Treitel Gratz. The base is constructed from solid and tubular bronze, which was designed to accommodate a stone top. The table was executed for a project by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (SOM) Architects. While SOM Acts as a collective, the furniture designs during this time are most closely tied to Davis Allen, under guidance of Gordon Bunshaft. The exact project it was intended for is not known at this time. SOM and Gratz were some of the only parties crafting and drafting elaborate pieces like this made from such fine materials. The thin metal ribbon and curve at the intersection are quintessential details of SOM / Bunshaft / Allen from this time.

This table measures 32 inches deep, 32 inches wide, and is approximately 15 inches high. We have cleaned the base, which has a light patina that has been intentionally preserved. The marble is in excellent shape with perhaps a few light scratches. Overall, this table is in excellent condition. Please see photos.

What is Freight shipping?

Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.
