B.1 Three Seat Sofa
Description
This is a B.1 Three Seat Sofa, initially designed by Fabien Baron for Bernhardt Design in 2013. This particular example dates to 2019 and was produced in the USA. The design features a brushed nickel-plated steel base, and has thick padded boxy foam pillows for its seat and back. Baron’s design was inspired by the classic club chair silhouette. The upholstery is done in Kaleen Shagreen Leather in a light cognac hue that Bernhardt calls “Ocean Sand”. There is tonal saddle stitching along the edges, and the Bernhardt tag is present on the bottom of the piece.
This sofa measures 33.5 inches deep, 95 inches wide, and is 30 inches tall. It has a seat height of 17.5 inches, and an arm height of 26.25 inches. The leather on this sofa has aged nicely and shows a warm patina. Due to the texture of the leather, the light scratches and signs of normal use are somewhat masked. The is a notable scratch on the left-hand side of the piece with some accompanying scuffs, most likely incurred while moving the piece. The frame is in good condition with some light scuffs.
