Listed for sale is a gorgeous and very special swan chair, produced in the mid 1960s. This example was designed by Arne Jacobsen and produced by Fritz Hansen. It was acquired directly from the estate of the original owner and was since masterfully reupholstered in full grain black leather by one of the nation's leading leather and upholstery craftspeople, who specializes in these pieces. There are only a select number of people on earth who are trained in the swan and egg furnishings as the curvature and hand stitching is quite complex. The chair has not been used in a home or office setting since its new upholstery job. It is ready for a new home and is in gorgeous condition. The base shows some light wear and patina. See photos.
The chair measures 30 inches long by 30 inches tall and 26 inches deep. There is another early and matching swan chair listed separately and a matching swan settee, which were masterfully reupholstered by the same shop and in the same leather. The second swan chair has a slightly different base mechanism though still creates a stunning matching pair.
