Parallel Bar Table
By Florence Knoll for Knoll
Description
Listed for sale is a very rare Parallel Bar Series coffee table produced by Knoll Associates and designed by Florence Knoll. This table was specified with a solid walnut top (a very unusual detail) and parallel bar metal legs. This is a terrific early example, which highlights the original early 1950s 575 Madison Avenue label. Knoll had their showroom in this location starting in 1950 and only remained there for a couple of years. This is therefore dated to circa 1951. The condition is very good to excellent. The walnut top has been freshly re-oiled. The metal base retains a lovely and light patina. If desired, this can be further cleaned prior to shipping, though its originality is superb.
The table measures 15.25" tall and 42" in diameter.
