Description

The Ribbon Stool is composed of continuously flowing ribbons of laser-cut metal. A recipient of the Red Dot Award, iF Products Design Award and Furniture Design Award, this stool is made of sheet metal derived from a single sheet, folded to give the impression that it is twisting and folding at the ideal height to ensure maximum stability.

The Ribbon stool range includes high and low versions, available in matte lacquered finish in white, red, black and mud. For added comfort, the seat can also be equipped with a magnetic cushion, padded with polyurethane foam and covered in a selection of leathers and fabrics from the collection.

Ribbon was designed by Nendo. Since 2002, under the guidance of architect Oki Sato, the collective of professionals united under the name Nendo has come to represent a cultured and refined alternative to the self-celebratory and self-referential design scene. In fact, the Japanese word, “Nendo”, means “clay” and the work of the studio, spanning from interior design to the world of furnishings and graphics, is meant to express the image of the flexibility and ductility of matter. Among the products Nendo has created for Cappellini, is the double-sided Drop bookshelf family, the Peg series of elements, the Koeda and Tuta coat hangers, the Ribbon stools and the Bambi desk, all of which were a great success. In just a few years, the Nendo’s signature objects have already received important international accolades.

What should I expect when ordering an item with lead time?

Estimated lead times are shown under "Delivery", above. Read our shipping policy to learn more.

Lead times are estimated based on previous production times from our manufacturing partners, but lead times can change depending on availability and circumstances outside of Rarify's control.

For example: if purchasing an imported or made-to-order product, international shipping and import times depend on many factors. This includes US customs operations, global trade circumstances, and production facilities in other countries.

We will try to fulfill your order as quickly as possible. Our international freight forwarding partners help to take burden off of you during the process of importing; we appreciate your patience while your order is fulfilled.

Purchasing made-to-order is one of the most responsible ways to purchase, as it helps prevent furniture waste on our planet.

Vintage items are typically in-stock in the USA and ready to ship once purchased.

How much does shipping cost?

To see shipping costs, add an item to your cart and proceed to checkout. You'll be able to see costs there.

Do you deliver to NYC?

Yes, in-stock items can often be delivered to NYC quickly by our skilled couriers. Pieces are delivered by hand to your residence. This typically takes 1-2 weeks for items stocked at our warehouse in PA.

What is Freight shipping?

Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.

Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.

Freight shipments can take longer and are more costly than regular mail, but help to prevent damage to furniture during delivery.

Is everything authentic?

Rarify's entire collection is evaluated by credentialed experts for authenticity. We strive to only list an item for sale if we're certain it's authentic. Our team reviews every piece.
