Prototype Frank Chair (2000s)
Made by Gratz Industries
This is a prototype Frank chair, designed and fabricated by Frank Gratz, patriarch of Gratz Industries in the late 1950s. This is a recent production example from the 2000s as Gratz industries considered bringing it back into production. They were never formally reintroduced, however, this is a fully finished and terrific example in a tan leather with polished stainless steel frame. It came from Gratz's private collection. It shows some light wear from use, as it was displayed in their Philadelphia showroom. See photos.
There are a few light and dark bronze frames available along with wood substrates that could be assembled upon request if a special order was desired with new upholstery.
Dimensions are approximately 25 inches wide by 27 inches deep and 32 inches tall. If exact dimensions are needed, please reach out to inquire.
