Description

The PH5 Pendant Lamp was developed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 in response to constant changes in the shape and size of incandescent bulbs, creating a lamp that could be used with any light source. The iconic design is based on the same principles as Henningsen’s three-shade system, which ensures that the light is soft, pleasant and completely glare-free, making it the perfect dining room table lamp. Originally, the PH 5 was fitted with red and blue shades to improve the color of the light, however these have been removed in later designs as modern light sources reproduce daylight much more effectively than they did in 1958. Available in a number of different color variations, the PH 5 is a much-loved and well-known pendant, that is found in many homes around the world.

Please note that the copper and brass surface is untreated. This means that the surface will change over time and develop a patina. This process may have already begun when the product is delivered.

When do orders ship?

You can see estimated lead times under "Delivery", above.

Newly made items ship from a warehouse or are made-to-order. There may be a lead time depending on the piece. We'll keep you updated if there is.

Vintage items are all in-stock and ready to ship.

What is Freight shipping?

Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.

Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.

Freight shipments can take longer and are more costly than regular mail, but help to prevent damage to furniture during delivery.
