Malamata Floor Lamp
Made by Luceplan
The Malamata Floor Lamp assumes different positions through use of a counterweight, pushing the button on top of the sphere, a spring released and the counterweight is free to slide on the steam, allowing to change the diffuser position up and down. The range of Malamata lights, named to recall the designer’s Israeli roots, drawing on the Hebrew meaning of ‘up and down’, is characterized by the possibility of a variety of diffuser positions.
The Malamata Collection was designed by Studio Shulab. Shulab was founded in 2005 by designers Kfir Schwalb and Orit Magia. Their work ranges from product design, interiors, branding and graphic design, always trying to explore the merger between graphic, and industrial design. Their aim is to keep the initial inspiration alive throughout the entire design process with minimal twists and turns, so that the outcome is then expressed in its most purified and simple form.
