The Gehry Left Twist Cube is made of polyethylene, making it suitable for indoors and out, as a stool, bedside table, end table, shower bench, ottoman, or coffee table. It is part of Heller's Frank Gehry indoor-outdoor collection which includes multi-use cubes, an easy chair, bench, and coffee table. The hollow single-piece form features consistent wall thickness and stress-free outer corners for supreme resistance to breakage. It weighs 16 pounds, but sand can be added for even more wind resistance, through the hole with removable plug on the underside.
The cube was designed by Frank Gehry in 2004. Gehry is known for his twisting, unconventionally shaped buildings. Alan Heller was known for his ability to see things others couldn’t. When Heller approached Gehry and said, “We can take your architecture and turn it into furniture,” the result was pure magic.
“This is the beginning of an exploration…” – Frank Gehry
