Description
This is an Eames Aluminum Group Soft Pad Management Chair, Model EA148, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in 1969. This example dates to around 1981. The piece features a cast aluminum frame, and it is upholstered in a brown leather. The back of the chair is done in a coordinating brown fabric designed by Alexander Girard. The seat has plush cushions that are 2 inches thick, and features an adjustable four-star aluminum base.
This chair measures 17.75 inches long, 23 inches wide, and 33.75 inches high. The seat height is 22.25 inches. There is creasing to the leather as shown, though we anticipate that this will improve and settle out as its used. The exposed aluminum frame shows oxidation, and the black arms have some wear to the finish. Overall, this chair is in solid vintage condition with signs of wear apparent. Please see photos.
