Description
This is a Cafiero Executive Desk Chair, Model 187, designed by Vincent Cafiero for Knoll in 1960. This example dates to the 1970s. The chair bears the tags of 'BK Upholstery', a known subcontractor for Knoll who to this day still does contacted upholstery work for Knoll. More than likely, the customer asked for the chair to be reupholstered and BK did the work. (as the upholstery looks fresher than the 1970s). It features tufted black leather upholstery with piping, and has a swiveling 4-point steel base on casters.
This chair measures 25.5 inches deep, 25.5 inches wide, and 33.5 inches tall. It has a seat height of 20 inches and an arm height of 27.75 inches. The leather is supple and clean, with just a few small marks on one armrest. The polished steel base has some small spots and has a light patina to the finish. Overall, this chair is in very good condition with slight wear. Please see photos.
