Description

This is a classic 2021 production Harry Bertoia for Knoll Counter Stool, Model 426C, originally designed in 1952. The piece is fabricated of a welded steel basket seat that is coated in white Rilsan and retains its original fully-upholstered seat cover in what appears to be Hourglass upholstery (color is Air). The stool came directly from a Knoll employee. It has never been used in a home or office setting. It may show minuscule wear from transportation to our warehouse.

This listing is for one counter stool along with the white cover as shown. The stool measures 22 inches deep, 21.75 inches wide and 38.5 inches tall. The seat height is 25 inches. This piece is appropriate for use with surfaces that are 36-39" high.

It’s interesting to note that the Rilsan powder which is used to coat the steel frames is derived entirely from castor beans, and is therefore considered a ‘green’ material. It was developed in Italy in the early ‘40s, and is still the most common finish found on Bertoia chairs today.

When do orders ship?

You can see estimated lead times under "Delivery", above.

Newly made items ship from a warehouse or are made-to-order. There may be a lead time depending on the piece. We'll keep you updated if there is.

Vintage items are all in-stock and ready to ship.

What is Freight shipping?

Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.

Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.

Freight shipments can take longer and are more costly than regular mail, but help to prevent damage to furniture during delivery.
