The Vent Stool is equal parts beautiful and functional, the handwoven seat in paper cord counterbalances the stringent and slender steel frame. The Vent Series is named after the Danish word for wait—a nod to its origins as seating conceived for leisurely viewing artworks at museums. Handmade in collaboration with a local workshop for the blind and sight impaired, the designs marry form with function.
The Vent Series was designed by the Danish/Swedish furniture designer Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm. With a Swedish mother and Danish father, her Nordic roots shine through in her minimalistic approach and use of natural materials like wood, leather and wool. The winner of multiple design awards, for Halstrøm, function is the starting point and dictates the idiom of her beautiful designs.
