The Embryo Chair has three legs and a chromed steel structure padded with molded polyurethane foam. The fixed bi-elastic fabric cover is available in white, black, orange, yellow and turquoise.
Embryo was designed by Australian born designer, Marc Newson. Newson has been described as one of the most influential designers of his generation. He has worked across a wide range of disciplines, and his clients include some of the best-known and most prestigious brands, spanning diverse sectors from manufacturing and technology to transportation, fashion and luxury goods. He is the only designer represented by the Gagosian Gallery, and leading museums around the world have hosted solo retrospective exhibitions of his design work.
The Cappellini catalogue features some of Newson’s most iconic furniture designs, including the Embryo Chair, Felt Chair and Orgone Lounge and Table. The collection also includes the Riga Desk, Wooden Chair, Hangman clothes rack, Newson Vase and its update, the Glass Newson Vase. The Wooden Chair and Orgone Lounge and Table were some of Newson’s first designs to be put into production and have been manufactured by Cappellini since 1989.
