Koinè Acoustic Suspension Lamp
Made by Luceplan
The “Koinè” family of pendant lights are characterized by their elegant and pure forms. Named for its meaning “shared language” and for its shapes which make it extremely versatile. Along with the high-tech lighting engineering performance which distinguishes it, Koinè enjoys yet another innovative element in the sound-absorbing version. The reflector is a felt cap (60% recycled) which not only has an important decorative role, but also allows increased acoustic comfort in the vicinity by reducing the time of sound reverberation. An aluminum portion inside covers the surfaces and contributes on one hand to holding the felt in place, and on the other hand to dispersing the heat of the light source.
The Koinè Collection was designed by Mandalaki Studio. Mandalaki is a product and consulting design firm founded in 2012 by Enrico De Lotto, George Kolliopoulos and Giovanni Senin. Davide Giovannardi became a partner in 2013. Mandalaki explores the intersection between design and technology to create unique pieces of high quality and conceptual values as a result in their consistent innovative approach between industrial and artisanal processes. Extremely pure shapes conceal years of meticulous technical and aesthetic research that characterize their iconic and recognizable products, architectures and art pieces.
