Wassily Lounge Chairs, Model B3 (1970s)
Made by Knoll
This is an original pair of Wassily Lounge Chairs, model 50L, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925. These examples were produced by Knoll in the 1970s, and the listed price includes both chairs. These appear to have been grey leather, however after decades of use, some of the natural color of the leather is apparent. The patina and subtle fading have produced a gentle and interesting appearance on the armrests and the seat, which we find quite desirable. They came directly from the family of the original owners, who had an exceptional collection of authentic modernist works.
Each chair measures 27 inches deep, 31 inches wide, and is 28.75 inches high. They have a seat height of 16.5 inches, and an arm height of 23 inches. There are some black marks on the leather, and patina throughout. There are a few scattered marks on the frames. Overall, this pair of chairs is in very good condition with signs of use. Please see photos.
