Pyramid is a chest of drawers with a pyramid-shaped structure, made of transparent acrylic resin. The chest contains 17 drawers of different sizes, made of black acrylic resin. The entire cabinet rests atop black rubber wheels with chromed metal carters.
Pyramid was designed by Shiro Kuramata. Kuramata is the founder of Kuramata Design Office in Tokyo. He best epitomized the spirit of the era in which he lived, through his highly significant products and creations. Kuramata’s designs are still remarkably modern, and many can be found in the permanent collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, the MoMA in New York, the Metropolitan Museum, the Vitra Design Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art of Toyama.
