Carimate Armchair
Made by Fritz Hansen
The Carimate Armchair was originally designed in 1959 for the Carimate golf club north of Milan, from which the chair takes its name. A strikingly memorable as well as comfortable chair, the Carimate is known for its bold personality and finely detailed construction.
Carimate was designed by Italian designer Vico Magistretti. Dubbed one of the founding fathers of Italian design, he was widely celebrated for his experimental yet strikingly harmonious work that ranged from sleek, high concept furnishings to elaborate architectural façades. Magistretti’s bold and charismatic design became a highly prized collectable piece from the Italian designer’s body of work. Fritz Hansen is proud to reintroduce Magistretti’s charismatic Carimate in natural Beech and Black Colored Ash with paper cord seat as a pure and honest expression of the design icon. Perfect for creating a bold and memorable dining setting and a must-have for collectors of Magistretti works.
