Model 805 Chairs (1960)
Listed for sale is a set of six vintage Model 805 dining chairs, produced by Van Keppel-Green, designed by Hendrick Van Keppel and Taylor Green. These iconic chairs were produced circa 1960 and remain some of the most recognizable chairs of the 20th century. Vividly imprinted in the minds of many 20th century design scholars, outdoor furniture pieces (similar to these) were frequently featured in the works of architectural photographer Julius Shulman, who famously used chaise lounge chairs by Van Keppel-Green in shooting the Kaufman House in Palm Springs, designed by Richard Neutra.
In short, these chairs are rare and special, notable for their form and simplicity. The chairs are in delightful condition and have been lovingly restored with fresh cotton cording, specced to the original diameter. The frames are in lovely original condition and have not been touched. The chairs measure 18 inches wide by 23.5 inches deep and 32 inches tall.
