Made by Herman Miller
Thin Edge Credenza (1954)
Up for sale is a rare vintage George Nelson for Herman Miller rosewood thin edge cabinet. The cabinet appears to have been originally designed to house bottlesand act as a sideboard. It seems it could also be used for an array of other purposes. Regardless, this was a very expensive piece in its day (undoubtedly 1950's for production of this piece). The base is correct and original. While many pieces are fitted with individual legs, this variation is a rarer steel bar base.
The rosewood is in exceptionally nice condition. A couple of darkened spots are found on the top, but this piece is otherwise in great shape. Minor wear as to be expected with its age.
The base of this cabinet is chromed steel. The base is not pitted and gleams nicely. Original hardware is still present.
Interior of the cabinet is in excellent condition.
