Listed for sale is a 1970s vintage Herman Miller Time Life lobby chair, designed by Ray and Charles Eames. This was designed as a luxurious desk and side chair and has historically been one of the most expensive options available. It was designed for the Time Life building in New York. This is a gorgeous early piece, in original brown leather. It retains its black rectangular label, signifying production post-1971. The chair shows some lovely wear and patina from use, though is generally in marvelous condition. The leather has taken on a lovely character, though remains supple to the touch. See photos. As noted, this example has glides rather than casters and has a swiveling base without the tilt mechanism. The chair measures 30.5 in tall by 28.5 inches wide 28.5 in deep.
