Kornblut Case (1970s)
Made by Nakashima Woodworkers
Listed for sale is an original 1970s George Nakashima early Kornblut case and bedside cabinet, produced in New Hope, Pennsylvania at George Nakshima's studio. This fabulous early example carries a number of notable details, including the solid walnutpaneled doors, hidden drawer pull (on bottom of the drawer),mitered dovetail joint, and simple early pedestal base. The casework is made entirely from solid Walnut, aside from the oak used for the drawer interior. The two doors close beautifully with an overlapping detail and magnetic hold. There is a small holedrilled in the back corner of the cabinet by the previous owner (presumably for their phone charger or similar). This can be professionally addressed with solid walnut if desired prior to shipping.
This piece is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Mira Nakashima, the daughter and professional legacy ofGeorge Nakashima.
