Listed for sale is a rare PSC swiveling dining / side chair, designed by Ray and Charles Eames. The chair was produced by Herman Miller. This particular example is notable in that it has the first-edition base, used from 1954-1956 approximately. The base is nearly identical to the 671 ottoman base used on the famous Eames Lounge and Ottoman. Similar also to the early Eames lounges, this PSC has slip-on boot glides. The fiberglass shell is original to the base and was acquired from an upstate New York estate. The shell is in very nice condition with some light wear from use. The aluminum base still gleams and paint is nicely intact.
The chair measures 32.25 inches tall by 18.5 inches deep and 18.5 inches wide.
