Prototype Toio Floor Lamp (2010s)
Made by Flos
Listed for sale is a prototype, directly from Flos, of the Toio Floor Lamp made with an enamel steel base and a hexagon shaped, nickel-plated brass stem. Along the stem are fishing rod rings guiding the electrical cord from the bulb to the transformer. A cleat on the base, like that found on a boat or ship, serves to keep the cord coiled when the lamp is adjusted to a lower height. The lamp was designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. It was produced by Flos in Italy and dates to circa 2010s. It is guaranteed as authentic also. Given that its a newer production example of an older design, it was presumably a developmental prototype of a new way of producing the lamp or a new light bulb type. In our conversations and lists from Flos, this was specifically marked as "Prototype" along with a couple of other pieces. Condition is very good to excellent with minor wear from use. See photos.
The lamp measures 8.26 inches wide, 13.8 inches deep and adjusts from 62.20 to 76.77 inches tall.
