Description

This is an early Saarinen Pedestal Dining Table, Model 174W, originally designed in 1956 by Eero Saarinen for Knoll. This particular piece was produced circa early 1960s. The base is formed of molded solid cast-iron, powder-coated in a white (now off-white) satin finish. Its top is made of white laminate over medium density fiberboard. It is finished with a beveled edge, giving the piece its iconic side profile.

The table measures 47.5 inches in diameter, and is 28.5 inches high. This piece is in original condition and does show some signs of age. There are some scratches and discoloration to the base, and there is some paint loss to the edge (we can freshen up the edge prior to shipping if desired). Underneath the base there is some discoloration and paint loss. The white laminate top is in good condition with no chips, but does show wear to the underside and to the edge. Overall, this table is in good vintage condition with wear apparent. It is unmarked, though we have authenticated it and guarantee it as a Knoll production example. Please see photos.

What should I expect when ordering an item with lead time?

Estimated lead times are shown under "Delivery", above. Read our shipping policy to learn more.

Lead times are estimated based on previous production times from our manufacturing partners, but lead times can change depending on availability and circumstances outside of Rarify's control.

For example: if purchasing an imported or made-to-order product, international shipping and import times depend on many factors. This includes US customs operations, global trade circumstances, and production facilities in other countries.

We will try to fulfill your order as quickly as possible. Our international freight forwarding partners help to take burden off of you during the process of importing; we appreciate your patience while your order is fulfilled.

Purchasing made-to-order is one of the most responsible ways to purchase, as it helps prevent furniture waste on our planet.

Vintage items are typically in-stock in the USA and ready to ship once purchased.

How much does shipping cost?

To see shipping costs, add an item to your cart and proceed to checkout. You'll be able to see costs there.

Do you deliver to NYC?

Yes, in-stock items can often be delivered to NYC quickly by our skilled couriers. Pieces are delivered by hand to your residence. This typically takes 1-2 weeks for items stocked at our warehouse in PA.

What is Freight shipping?

Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.

Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.

Freight shipments can take longer and are more costly than regular mail, but help to prevent damage to furniture during delivery.

Is everything authentic?

Rarify's entire collection is evaluated by credentialed experts for authenticity. We strive to only list an item for sale if we're certain it's authentic. Our team reviews every piece.
