Knoll Platner Easy Chair and Ottoman, Models 1705L and 1709Y
By Warren Platner for Knoll
Description
This is a 1960s Warren Platner Easy Chair and Ottoman, Models 1705L/1709Y, originally designed for Knoll in 1966. This early set dates to the 1960s, retaining its 320 Park Avenue tag (320 Park Ave is where Knoll had their showroom in the 1960s). The frame of this chair is formed of steel wire with a bronzed finish, and the padded back & seat have been newly reupholstered. We chose a light heather-gray Divina Melange wool fabric designed by Finn Skodt for Kvadrat.
The chair measures 37 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 38.75 inches high. The seat height is 18.75 inches. The coordinating ottoman measures 26.75 inches in diameter and is 16.75 inches high. We have intentionally left the frame of the chair untouched and original. There is patina and age present on the frame. The upholstery is pristine as it was newly redone. Overall, this set is in very good to excellent condition with some wear. Please see photos.
