Description

Light Shade Shade is a one way mirror that reflects its environment as well as concealing the chandelier within. When the light is turned on, the ‘Light Shade Shade’ reveals its unforeseen identity and projects the former beauty that lies within. The light shines beautifully through the space and through its foil hood. The interior evokes the feeling of an exclusive hall of mirrors.

The Light Shade Shade Lamps were designed by Jurgen Bey, co-founder of Studio Makkink & Bey. The design team operates as one entity and includes experts of various disciplines, ranging from fashion, design and architecture. The cross-wiring between the different areas of expertise prompts new insights and perspectives, which are used within each stage of the design process. Stories, study and research are in constant movement throughout the design process, to be converted into solutions for a perpetually changing environment.

What should I expect when ordering an item with lead time?

Estimated lead times are shown under "Delivery", above. Read our shipping policy to learn more.

Lead times are estimated based on previous production times from our manufacturing partners, but lead times can change depending on availability and circumstances outside of Rarify's control.

For example: if purchasing an imported or made-to-order product, international shipping and import times depend on many factors. This includes US customs operations, global trade circumstances, and production facilities in other countries.

We will try to fulfill your order as quickly as possible. Our international freight forwarding partners help to take burden off of you during the process of importing; we appreciate your patience while your order is fulfilled.

Purchasing made-to-order is one of the most responsible ways to purchase, as it helps prevent furniture waste on our planet.

Vintage items are typically in-stock in the USA and ready to ship once purchased.

How much does shipping cost?

To see shipping costs, add an item to your cart and proceed to checkout. You'll be able to see costs there.

  • Small items like lamps typically cost under $99 to ship.
  • Larger items including furniture often ship on a truck via Freight. Our furniture shippers professionally arrange and manage all Freight shipments.
  • Freight costs often range between $100 and $999 for furniture.
  • Very large and fragile items can cost more, depending on the ship-to-address.
  • Freight costs may include insurance.

Do you deliver to NYC?

Yes, in-stock items can often be delivered to NYC quickly by our skilled couriers. Pieces are delivered by hand to your residence. This typically takes 1-2 weeks for items stocked at our warehouse in PA.

What is Freight shipping?

Freight shipping is how most furniture is shipped: secured by hand on a pallet and transported on a truck.

Furniture arrives curbside, often on the shipping pallet for protection.

Freight shipments can take longer and are more costly than regular mail, but help to prevent damage to furniture during delivery.

Is everything authentic?

Rarify's entire collection is evaluated by credentialed experts for authenticity. We strive to only list an item for sale if we're certain it's authentic. Our team reviews every piece.
